It’s located in Palmerton, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. It is the second church built in what is now Carbon County. The land was purchased in 1798 and the church built the following year. The current church was built in 1862.<\/p>\n
My husband and I visited this church in April 2001 to look for gravestones of my ancestors Frederick Boyer and wife Susanah Mehrkam. Other ancestors were baptized there but we did not get to see the records for them. Leah Boyer was baptized in Towamensing Union Church in Carbon County in 1828. Levi Stroup was born May 18, 1829 and baptized at St. John’s Union Church.<\/p>\n
While there, we took the following pictures which I will share with you.
