Mabel insisted that her daughter-in-law, Katherine LeBlond, also wear this dress at her wedding.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>My great-grandmother was Mabel LaBarre Straub, daughter of David Walter Straub (1855-1921) and Laura LaBar (1858-1925).<\/p>\n<h3>Birth<\/h3>\n<p>Mabel was born on April 26, 1878, in Shenandoah, PA.<\/p>\n<h3>Education<\/h3>\n<p>She attended the Boston Conservatory of Music where she played piano. She later played the organ in the Moravian Church in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n<h3>Marriage<\/h3>\n<p>Mabel married Edward Franklin Farquhar on August 26, 1909, in Lafayette, McKean, Pennsylvania.
