My great-grandmother was Mabel LaBarre Straub, daughter of David Walter Straub (1855-1921) and Laura LaBar (1858-1925).<\/p>\n

Birth<\/h3>\n

Mabel was born on April 26, 1878, in Shenandoah, PA.<\/p>\n

Education<\/h3>\n

She attended the Boston Conservatory of Music where she played piano. She later played the organ in the Moravian Church in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

Marriage<\/h3>\n

Mabel married Edward Franklin Farquhar on August 26, 1909, in Lafayette, McKean, Pennsylvania. Their engagement was announced on April 30, 1909, in the Allentown Democrat.<\/p>\n
