A fresco painter by profession, he decorated church interiors, sometimes working with his father-in-law Ulrich Christian Tandrop, while also painting landscapes, seascapes, portraits, and other works on canvas. Wilhelm and his wife Catherine \u201cKate\u201d Tandrop raised five children, including my great-grandmother Ella Blomberg LeBlond. He is my great, great grandfather.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4648\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4648\" style=\"width: 203px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4648\" src=\"http:\/\/www.karenfurst.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/1001.jpg\" alt=\"Wilhelm Clement Theodor Blomberg (1829-1909)\" width=\"203\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.karenfurst.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/1001.jpg 311w, https:\/\/www.karenfurst.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/1001-216x300.jpg 216w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4648\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wilhelm Clement Theodor Blomberg (1829-1909)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Birth<\/h2>\n<p>Wilhelm Clement Theodor Blomberg was born on September 27, 1829, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to parents Jacob Wilhelm Blomberg (1801\u20131853) and Caroline Jensine Elizabeth Eckhaussen.<\/p>\n<h2>Emigration<\/h2>\n<p>He left for America on October 3, 1860, at the age of 31, sailing from Hamburg, Germany, on the ship Steamer Saxonia. He became a naturalized citizen in 1889.<\/p>\n<h2>Marriage<\/h2>\n<p>He married Catherine Tandrop (nicknamed Kate), sixteen years his junior, on July 11, 1863. The couple settled in Cincinnati. Kate was born in Munich, Germany on December 13, 1845 and died in Cincinnati, Ohio, in August 1937.<\/p>\n<h2>Children<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"simple-list\">\n<li>Fanny Thora Blomberg. Married Walter Palm.<\/li>\n<li>William Theodore Blomberg. Married Lillian Morecraft.<\/li>\n<li>Harry Charles Blomberg. Married Florence.<\/li>\n<li>Eleanor &#8220;Ella&#8221; Anna Blomberg. Married Robert LeBlond.<\/li>\n<li>Cordelia Marie &#8220;Cora&#8221; Blomberg. Married Ernest Roden.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Occupation<\/h2>\n<p>William was a fresco painter who painted murals in churches. He also painted landscapes and seascapes on canvas. The owner&#8217;s name is restricted.
