Leah Boyer is my third great grandmother. She married into our Straub line.

Birth

Leah Boyer was born on December 9, 1828. Her baptism is recorded by the Towamensing Union Church in Carbon County, PA.

Marriage

Leah was married twice, first to Wilhelm F. Steinmetz, with whom she had one child: Elias W. Steinmetz. She then married Levi Stroup/Straub. With him she had three children: David Walter Straub, Elmer Straub, and Emma Straub.

Leah was unmarried at the time of the 1850 census in Lower Towamensing, Carbon County, PA, and appears as a 20-year-old in her parents’ household.

Death

She died April 18, 1894.
